NEW ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE

Announcing ACRE Project Artists in Residence 2023/24 – Embrace Music

Kildare-based musicians and Arts & Health practitioners Sharon Murphy and Sadhbh O’Sullivan (Embrace Music) have been selected as Artists in Residence 2023/24 at the ACRE Project in Celbridge, with support from Kildare Arts Service.

As part of this residency, the artists will have access to the beautiful onsite space where they will welcome members of the community to participate in a range of workshops. Their offerings will centre around utilising music and other forms of creativity as tools for enhancing wellbeing and exploring themes that encourage connection to one another and to the natural world.

Embrace Music is a socially-driven entity on a mission to provide far-reaching opportunities for meaningful engagement with the arts. Drawing on a wealth of experience across healthcare and community settings, Sadhbh and Sharon deliver workshops that combine singing and voicework with movement, creativity and relaxation. Their work is informed by their training in the areas of music for mental health, trauma, lung health and a range of concerns including Parkinson’s and dementia, and has been sought after by organisations including the Irish Hospice Foundation, Creative Places Athy and the HSE.

Sadhbh and Sharon are very excited to embark on this residency, to work in collaboration with the team at the ACRE Project, and to begin drawing inspiration from this unique setting and its surrounding community.
